The Sparrow Plein Air Festival is a three-day painting and sketching event open to artists of all ages, levels, and mediums. Whether you’re a seasoned plein air painter or picking up a brush for the first time, you’re invited to capture the world around you in real time alongside a welcoming creative community.

What to Expect

• A choose-your-own-adventure weekend of outdoor art-making
• Optional demonstrations and on-site guidance each day for beginners
• A curated map of scenic sites, with tips and amenity info
• Artist welcome packets with water, snacks, and local goodies
• Optional opportunity to sell your artwork in our Wet Paint Sale
• Entry into giveaways and access to exclusive local discounts

Event Dates

• Welcome Gathering: Friday, June 12 in the evening
• Festival Painting Days: Saturday & Sunday, June 13–14
• Check-in begins at 9:00 AM each day at Sparrow Art Supply in Middlebury, VT. Artists are welcome to paint through 5:00 PM.

Pricing

• 1-Day Pass: $35
• 2-Day Pass: $50
• Early bird pricing available through Aprul 15: 1-Day: $35, 2-Day: $55
• Artists aged 17 and under may register for $10, with adult registration.

Once you register, leading up to the festival, you’ll receive a prep guide with supply suggestions, location notes, and tips to get the most out of the weekend.
