2026 Frank Lloyd Wright Affleck House Tour

TOURS AVAILABLE ON THE 3rd SATURDAY OF THE MONTH IN MAY, JUNE AND JULY.

The first Frank Lloyd Wright-designed house to be built in the Detroit metropolitan area, the Gregor S. & Elizabeth B. Affleck House represents one of the finest examples of the architect’s Usonian style, the last great period of Wright’s career. Designed to exist in harmony with the home’s site and nature, the Affleck House was a part of Wright’s attempt to meet the need for low-cost housing for the average American.

Registration fee is $40.00. Tours are offered at 10:00 AM, 11:10 AM, 12:20 PM, 1:30 PM, and 2:40 PM. Click the 'Select date and time' button above to reserve your spot for one of these time slots. Tickets are not available at the door, and registration typically ends one day prior to the tour date.

We will have a list of attendees, so no printed ticket is needed.

Please arrive 10 minutes before your tour time to check in. Tours begin promptly at your designated start time and run approximately one hour.

Parking at or near Affleck House is limited to a few spots on Bloomfield Woods near the home and some parallel parking on Scenic Oaks Dr N. Parking on other streets in the neighborhood is prohibited. We recommend carpooling as much as possible.

Due to the historical status and intimate nature of the house, many rooms and passageways are very narrow and therefore, the house is not wheelchair accessible. Limited photography for personal use only is permitted. In consideration of other guests, we ask that you use handheld cameras only. Tripods and flash photography are prohibited.

Please note: Low-heeled, comfortable shoes are recommended. This tour will involve walking and can include both paved and unpaved terrain. The event will be offered rain or shine, please dress for the weather.

FAQs are included below.
