Opening Night Benefit

Thursday, May 28 –7:00-10:00pm

Special presentation of acclaimed documentary short, Resonancia. Created by Grammy-winning composer (and Uptown resident) Ted Nash and Cathy Barbash. Post screening conversation with filmmakers and Inwood Art Works’s Founder and Executive Producer, Aaron Simms.

Plus, experience live music, delicious catered dinner, specialty cocktails, refreshing beer from Dyckman Beer Company, and birthday cake in celebration of ten years of Inwood Art Works.

$95 pre-purchase. $135 day-of, and at the door, if space allows.

Sanjay Singh, filmmaker and founder of Nukhu, shares insights on how distribution functions and the evolving distribution ecosystem for independent filmmaking.

The Doctrine

Feature Exhibition – Sunday, May 31 at 3:35pm - 66 minutes - Plus special post-screening conversation with filmmaker, Gwendolen Cates.

The Doctrine is a feature-length documentary film about the Doctrine of Discovery that follows a group of Indigenous youth in Minneapolis/St.Paul who decide to request a meeting at the Vatican to explain how the 15th-century Doctrine has impacted Indigenous Peoples and advocate for its repudiation.

2026 Celebration and Awards for Excellence in Filmmaking

Sunday, May 31 at 5:00pm – FREE, all are welcome!

Join us in the Theater following the final screening on Sunday for the announcement of the Inwood Film Festival’s Awards for Excellence in Filmmaking! Following the awards, mix with fellow filmmakers, enjoy free cake and celebrate the closing of the festival!

Inwood Art Works is thrilled to launch IFF+ as the online extension of the Inwood Film Festival. Our goal for IFF+ is to provide an alternative digital platform that celebrates and enhances accessibility to the films of our fantastic local artists. Our hope is that these online festival screenings will attract large and enthusiastic new audiences for local independent filmmakers.

RED CARPET COMMUNITY ROOM

Friday May 28 through Sunday, May 31

The Red Carpet Community Room is a hip hub to connect filmmakers and audiences. It is for the exclusive use of all Inwood Film Festival ticketed patrons before and after each screening. Enjoy a glass of wine or a Dyckman Beer and come to connect with neighbors before the show, stay afterward to discuss the films, meet like-minded folk, and hob-nob with local movers n’ shakers.

POST SCREENING CONVERSATIONS

Hear first-hand from local filmmakers about how they made their films, followed by Q &A, after each screening.

END OF DAY CELEBRATIONS

Following the final screenings each night in the Red Carpet Community Room join filmmakers, film aficionados, and the Inwood Art Works team for complimentary cake and raise a glass to our Inwood community and its vibrant arts scene.
