We’re back at the beautiful Marina del Rey for the Pedal to the Playa Community Ride. Join us for this ride by the coast on an easy, no-drop pace starting at Venice &amp; Abbot Kinney Station. The 7.5-mile round trip will take us from a vibrant shopping boulevard through welcoming residential neighborhoods and protected bike lanes on the waterfront.Designed to be supportive and beginner-friendly, this ride is perfect for new riders, families, first-time city bike users, or anyone looking for a practical and enjoyable way to access coastal destinations and waterfront paths.Throughout the ride, we’ll practice safe biking practices and connect with fellow riders. We'll highlight Metro Bike as a reliable option to enjoying scenic coastal bikeways, public spaces, and natural areas along the Westside shoreline. Ride InformationStart and End Station: Venice &amp; Abbot Kinney Station Length: The route is a 7.5 -mile round trip on low-grade hills with bike lanes or bike-friendly streets. Experience Level: This route is perfect for beginners, families, and casual riders who enjoy a relaxed pace on flat, protected streets. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times; while training wheels are not allowed, children in trailers or on child bike seats are welcome.Getting There:<ul><li>Biking: Plan your trip with the Metro Bike Map.</li><li>Public Transit: Metro bus or rail – for more information, please visit metro.net/tripplanner.</li><li>Parking: Metered Parking or open parking lots</li></ul>What to Bring:<ul><li>A functional bicycle. We do not have a mechanic on the ride, so we recommend you carry your own tire repair kit if you bring your own bicycle. Limited Metro Bikes are available to borrow free of charge during the ride, please select "I need to borrow a Metro Bike" when reserving your spot.</li><li>Hand sanitizer</li><li>TAP card or money for fare to take Metro bus or rail ($1.75 per ride)</li><li>A helmet (If you do not have one, one will be provided free of charge)</li><li>Water bottle</li><li>Sunscreen</li></ul>Safety Protocols:We will be observing strict safety protocols during the ride to ensure the safety and comfort of all participants. Please keep in mind the following rules while attending the ride:<ul><li>If you are feeling sick or unwell, please stay home.</li><li>Metro Bike Share will provide helmets, water, and ride marshals.</li><li>Participants are required to sign a release of liability.
