Join us for an insightful author discussion with J.M. Mitchell, creator of the Jack Chastain National Park Mystery series. Drawing from a 36-year career with the National Park Service, Mitchell brings real-world experience and depth to his fiction.

Learn about his time working in iconic parks such as Yosemite, Grand Canyon, and Zion, and how those experiences shaped the themes and stories in his novels.

About the Author

J.M. Mitchell served as Chief of the Biological Resource Management Division for the National Park Service. His novel Killing Godiva’s Horse was a finalist for the Colorado Book Awards (Thriller) and won the Colorado Authors’ League Award for Western fiction. His earlier novel, The Height of Secrecy, also received recognition from the Colorado Authors’ League and New Mexico-Arizona Book Awards.
