Overview

Join us for a sparkling evening as we toast the nation's 250th birthday and Dumbarton House's long-awaited reopening!

After more than a year's closure for urgent renovation work, Dumbarton House is preparing to reopen its doors - and the community is invited to a reception celebrating our reopening, the NSCDA's leadership in historic preservation, and the nation's 250th birthday.

Dumbarton House, the second-oldest extant residential building in D.C., holds an essential piece of the story of our nation's capital. It housed civil servants as the Republic began, and has continued to stand sentinel as the United States has grown and developed. Furthering its own history, the house has also served as the headquarters of the National Society of The Colonial Dames of America since 1932.

Guests for this special evening will be able to explore and enjoy the historic house museum and surrounding gardens while celebrating with libations and light bites.

Individual ticket prices are $250 (plus applicable Eventbrite fees; tax-deductible value of $115). As a thank-you gift, each ticket buyer will receive a copy of the NSCDA's book Great American Treasures: Women Preserving History Since 1891.
