Week of Building Hope Kick Off Breakfast

Habitat for Humanity was founded in 1976 as a non-profit, Christian housing ministry. Since its inception, Habitat has helped build over 400,000 homes for more than 2 million people around the world.The Richmond chapter joined the affordable housing effort in 1986. Since then, we’ve built more than 350 homes. Along with our partner families, generous volunteers and donors, we have restored the hope and dignity that poverty housing often strips away.

Join us as we kick off an amazing week of engaging 400 volunteers,  celebrating our 40th Anniversary, and dedicating our 400th home.

First Baptist Church

We are so excited to kick off our 40th Anniversary Week of Building Hope on Monday, May 11th at First Baptist Church on Monument Avenue! In honor of our founding at Aunt Sarah's Pancake House in May 1986, we will be having a pancake breakfast. You can also hear from Habitat International's first volunteer, <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t0knSMQ6QwU" title="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t0knSMQ6QwU" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Clive Rainey</a>, who will help get us excited about the volunteer week! Below are the program details:<ul><li>Arrival Window - 8-8:15 am</li><li>Breakfast starts - 8:15 am</li><li>40th Anniversary Welcome - 8:45 am</li><li>Clive Rainey speaks - 9:00 am</li><li>Snack Bag Volunteer Project - 10-11:00 am</li></ul>Let us know when you RSVP if you plan to stay and help with the volunteer snack opportunity.
