On Friday, August 7, ChildServe will host a unique nursing camp event for incoming 6th – 8th graders at our Johnston location. In this day-camp-style event, your child will gain hands-on experience through fun-filled activity stations to learn nursing skills and techniques, gain career-focused knowledge, improve critical thinking skills, and explore different career paths offered in nursing. Nurse Camp is hosted by ChildServe nurses, who are excited to provide a fun-filled day sharing their love for nursing with the next generation.
A $60 registration fee covers a tshirt, swag bag, lunch, snacks and beverages. For students receiving free and reduced-price lunch at school, registration is $10.

Hands-on Nursing Activity Stations (with Break for Lunch)
Students will rotate through 13 hands-on activity stations based on various career pathways in Nursing. Sessions include: Wound Care, Vital Signs, Body Fluids, Xray, Respiratory, CPR, Taste the Rainbow, Medication Administration, Range of Motion and Splints, Do as I Say, Hand Hygiene, Venipuncture, and Otoscope. A 30-minute lunch break (pizza!) as well as a self-care activity and interactive visit from a ChildServe kid are also included in this section of the agenda.
