Do I need to bring anything?

Bring your laptop, sketchbook, or whatever you use to make games. You’re welcome to just bring yourself if you’re not working on a project right now. Power is very limited. If you are bringing a laptop, or any powered equipment, you must bring your own power strip or extension lead.

Do I have to pitch or present something?

Not at all. It’s open to anyone working in or around games: artists, writers, musicians, producers, marketers, testers, students, or anyone interested in making games.

Sadly no. We love the enthusiasm, but this meetup is designed as an adult-focused professional space for people working in or making games. The conversations and environment aren’t structured with children in mind, so we’re keeping attendance 18+.

Do I need to stay for the whole event?

Not at all. The event runs from 1–6pm, and you’re welcome to drop in for as long or as little time as you like.

Come hang out with local game developers for an evening of games, conversation, and general dev-adjacent chaos at Brewhouse & Kitchen.

Hosted by Antivenin Games and Solent Video Game Developers (SVGD), this is a relaxed, social meetup for people who make games, want to make games, or are just quietly obsessed with them.

Expect a mix of chatting about what you’re working on, swapping war stories, meeting new people, and accidentally staying longer than you meant to.

No talks.
No pitching.
No awkward icebreakers.
Just a bunch of game devs in a room, being human.

Whether you’re a student, hobbyist, indie dev, industry veteran, or somewhere in between, you’re welcome here.

If you’ve been before, you know the vibe. If you haven’t, it’s friendly, informal, and very low-pressure.

Coming on your own is completely normal. People do it all the time. You will be adopted within minutes.

Parking

There is limited parking available at the venue, with options of on-road parking nearby. There is also a nearby Sainsbury's Car Park and Westbridge Road Car Park off Portswood Road.

Food and Drink

Brewhouse & Kitchen has a full food and drinks menu available throughout the evening.

Food and drinks can be purchased directly from the venue.
