How do I know if this group is for me?

Accepted Answer

If you are interested in connecting with others and enjoy being outside, this group is for you. If you are curious about how your grief can be supported by nature, this group is for you. If you are lonely in your grief, this group is for you.

Question 2

Do I have to be at a certain level of fitness to participate in this group?

Accepted Answer

No. This group will adjust to the pace of the members. However, please note the following: Lower Saltzman Location: this trail is on a slight incline and we will walk up and then turn around.

Question 3

What should I wear?

Accepted Answer

Please dress in layers and check the weather before we meet. Don't forget mittens, hats, warm socks. Please bring a small water bottle if you tend to get thirsty easily. A good pair of running shoes will do. If it is raining or has been wet, a rain boot or waterproof shoe may be more comfortable.

Is this group for a particular type of grief?

Accepted Answer

No. This group is for anyone, grieving any type of loss. You may be grieving the death of a loved one, or you may be grieving the loss of a relationship, or perhaps you are grieving the state of the world. All grief experiences are welcome.

Question 5

Where do I park?

Accepted Answer

Lower Saltzman Trail: Parking is on the side of the narrow road. There is no fee for parking. Please note that when you turn onto Saltzman Road from HWY 30, you will drive up a steep, winding hill. Please go slowly. Mid-day, there is usually plenty of parking.

Where do I meet the group?

Accepted Answer

Lower Saltzman Trail: Please meet at the white gate at the start of the main trail. This is where the paved road ends and the fire lane begins, which is the start of the trail.
