2nd Annual Move Like Malcolm Wellness Event
It was so good the first time, we had to run it back again!
Join us at Havenwoods State Forest on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at 2:00 PM to honor Malcolm X in motion. We’ll kick off with a powerful group walk/run, then ground ourselves with meditation, food, and conversation on Black liberation and how we carry his legacy forward.
All ages are welcome to attend. Children under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

Agenda
-
Introductions and Warmup
The first 30 minutes we'll allow people to get settled into the space and check-in. This will also be a time for introductions so we can get to know each other, learn more about Run Black & Green, and warm up for our walk/run.
-
Group Walk/Run
Attendees will have the option to walk or run for up to 2 miles. The hosts will inform and guide attendees through the routes on the Havenwoods State Forest trails based on which option they choose.
-
Cool Down / Intermission
We'll return from the walk/run for a short cool down and give people time to patronize the Black owned vendors who will be serving food, beverages, and wellness items for attendees to purchase. We'll then transition inside the Nature Center (the indoor space of Havenwoods State Forest) for an interactive program centered around Malcolm X and Black Liberation.
