Basal & Bunnies: A Morning Social in the Park

The Basal Social hosts in-person community gatherings for people living with Type 1 Diabetes and their support systems in San Diego.Our events are designed to feel relaxed, welcoming, and real—not clinical, not overwhelming, and never judgmental. This is a space where you can show up exactly as you are, meet others who understand the daily reality of T1D, and build genuine connections beyond the online world.Each gathering is intentionally curated and may include:• casual mixers and social nights• wellness-focused experiences• light bites and drinks• guided conversations and peer support• community resources and local collaborationsWhether you’re newly diagnosed, have been living with T1D for years, or are a partner, friend, or family member, you are welcome here.Our goal is simple: to make life with Type 1 feel less isolating and more connected—one event at a time.

Fletcher Cove Beach Park

Join us for a morning in the park with The Basal Social — a Type One Diabetes event focused on connection, fresh air, and bunny cuddles.This is a relaxed outdoor social where guests can sit on blankets, enjoy light snacks and drinks, spend time with the bunnies, and meet others in the Type 1 Diabetes community (and friends of the community).Our goal is to create spaces where people can meet, talk, make friends, and not feel so alone.Your ticket includes:<ul><li>Bunny cuddle time</li><li>Picnic-style snacks &amp; drinks</li><li>Community social time</li><li>Supports future Basal Social events for the Type 1 Diabetes community</li></ul>What to bring:<ul><li>A blanket or towel to sit on</li><li>Water</li><li>Sunscreen</li><li>Comfortable clothes</li></ul>Important: This is an outdoor community social event involving animals. By attending, you understand you are participating at your own risk and must follow bunny handling guidelines provided at the event.
