We recommend reading Kin in advance so you can fully participate, but you’re welcome whether you’ve finished it or not.

Is this book club open to the public?

This book club is intentionally designed to center Black women, and we warmly welcome Black femmes, nonbinary, trans, and gender-expansive Black people who feel aligned with this space. While hosted in partnership with Black Women of Evanston, registration is open to the broader Black community.

Is there a cost to attend?

Attendance is free, but RSVP is required so we can plan seating and refreshments.

Where is Zora's Place located?

We’re inside The Aux in Evanston. While the street address is 2223 Washington St., Evanston, IL 60202, our parking lot is located on Pitner Alley off Main Street. Look for signage that says The Aux and/or The Laundry Cafe.
