What is Garba anyway?

Garba is a community folk dance from Gujurat, India. It is traditionally performed during certain holiday and special occasions like weddings. The form we will be doing involves performing various movements like hops, skips, gallops and spins in rotating circular formations.

Is Garba or dance experience required?

Accepted Answer

Recommended, but not required! A baseline sense of rhythm and spatial awareness is important. Some experience with Indian folk dance is helpful but not mandatory

Question 3

Will there be food and drinks?

Accepted Answer

As this event is dance-focused and being hosted in a dance studio, there will not be any food or drink for sale per studio policy. There is a water fountain on premises, but please bring your own water bottle.
