Textiles and Fiber Art

Work with natural dyes, sew garments, create sculptural work out of fabric, weave, and more. All classes related to fiber and textiles live here.

A mixed media textiels collage class pulling several techniques in! Explore natural dyeing focusing primarily on dye materials that can be found at home, like onion skins, flowers, and spices. Participants will apply a painted wax resist gently inspired by roketsuzome to their dyed pieces. Our wax and dyeing experiments will culminate into a fabric collage inspired by life or imagination!This class is taught by visiting artist-in-residence <a href="https://alchemyartcenter.com/2026-artistsinresidence" title="https://alchemyartcenter.com/2026-artistsinresidence" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Guadalupe Najar.</a> Lupe joins us for June and July from Austin, TX. If you register more than three weeks before this class begins, a 20% early bird discount will automatically be applied to your ticket at checkout.A Note on Ticket Pricing: We are offering sliding scale tickets in order to keep our classes accessible to as many community members as possible. There are three price tiers. Sustaining tickets help us continue to invest in programming. Full price tickets cover the costs associated with running classes.
