Reimagined Stuffed Animals (2-part class)

Reimagined Stuffed Animals (2-part class)

849 Spring St suite bFriday Harbor, WA
Tuesday, June 2-Tuesday, June 9  •  2 PM-6 PM
Overview

Learn to sew and embellish stuffed animals!

This is not just any old stuffed animal making class! By combining and altering parts of existing sewing patterns, students will start from scratch to create and customize their own whimsical creatures. We will explore different ways to bring your creature to life with buttons, beads, and embroidery. Students will have the option to use lavender from our farm as part of the stuffing for their creations.

Some hand and machine sewing experience is strongly recommended.

This class is co-taught by visiting artists-in-residence Cora Armstrong and Guadalupe Najar. Cora and Lupe join us for June and July from Portland, OR and Austin, TX respectively. You can learn more about them here!

Location: This class is located at our new town classroom, which is located in Friday Harbor at 849 Spring St, Suite B.

Schedule: Two-part class. Tuesday June 2nd and Tuesday June 9th from 2-6pm.

Registration: If you are excited to sign up for this class, please jump on the opportunity! Please register early if you are able, as it helps us to assure that classes meet their minimums in order to run! If you register more than three weeks before this class begins, a 20% early bird discount will automatically be applied to your ticket at checkout.

A Note on Ticket Pricing: We are offering sliding scale tickets in order to keep our classes accessible to as many community members as possible. There are three price tiers. Sustaining tickets help us continue to invest in programming. Full price tickets cover the costs associated with running classes. Accessibility tickets are priced below what it costs for us to run a class. If the cost of a full price ticket is a hardship, we encourage you to purchase a sliding scale ticket. If you can pay the full price or sustaining price, please choose that option so we can keep providing arts programming to the community.

Tuition assistance is available for Alchemy classes and workshops if finances are a barrier. Apply for tuition assistance here.
