Overview

A guided Photo Mural Walk in Camp North End with Kevin "Surf" Mitchell and ArtWalks CLT.

Explore Camp North End through a creative lens on this guided walking tour blending public art, photography, and community storytelling.

Photographer Kevin “Surf” Mitchell kicks things off with quick, practical tips on composition, lighting, angles, and capturing mural details — perfect for any skill level and easy to apply right away. As you visit approximately 10 murals, ArtWalks CLT and a featured mural artist will share insight into the artwork, the artists, and the impact of public art in Charlotte.

You’ll have time at each stop to photograph, experiment, and ask questions. The experience ends with a relaxed group reflection to share photos and takeaways.

UPDATED: Our meeting point is at the sidewalk outside of Free Range Brewery located at 301 Camp Road. We will end near the Empanada Fest at the Boileryard.

  • Guided tour of ~10 murals at Camp North End
  • Photography tips for all skill levels (smartphones welcome)
  • Artist and public art insights from ArtWalks CLT
