The Common Thread is a monthly networking morning hosted in The Library at University Arms, Cambridge. It brings together professionals from across the city for relaxed, unstructured networking over complimentary refreshments.

Free-flowing. There is no formal agenda, timetable, or required activity. The session runs from 10:00am to 11:30am and you are welcome to arrive, mingle, grab a coffee, and connect at your own pace. We find that keeping it relaxed makes for the most genuine connections.

Will there be a speaker or presentation?

The format for our first sessions is intentionally open — no speaker, no slides, just conversation. We may introduce optional elements in future editions depending on feedback from attendees.

Where exactly is The Library at University Arms?

The Library is located inside University Arms hotel on Regent Street, Cambridge, CB2 1AD. On arrival, please head to reception and a member of the team will direct you to The Library. The hotel is a short walk from Cambridge city centre and Parker's Piece.

Where can I park nearby?

The nearest public car parks are at Park Street and Gonville Place, both within a short walk of the hotel. Cambridge is also well served by bus routes along Regent Street, and the train station is approximately a 15-minute walk away.

Yes, attendance is completely free. Refreshments including tea, coffee, pastries, and fresh fruit are provided as part of the event at no cost to attendees.

Yes, registration via Eventbrite is required. Places are limited, and registering in advance helps us ensure the right environment for everyone. Walk-ins may not be accommodated if the session is fully booked.
