What time should I arrive?

Our box office + lobby opens one hour before curtain times. Seating is general admission, so please plan to arrive 15-20 minutes before the show begins. The performance will begin at the time listed.

Is there parking available?

Parking is free along both 55th Street and S Woodlawn Avenue. Allow for ample time when searching for street parking. Please know Definition does not operate its own parking facility, nor does it validate for any nearby parking structures.

Is the theater near public transportation?

Definition Theatre (1160 E. 55th St.) is a 15 minute walk from the 55/56/57 Metra stop. If arriving from the Garfield Green Line, take the 55 bus Eastbound toward MSI.

What if I need any accommodations?

Once I order a ticket, can I switch the dates?

Please know there is a $5 processing fee for any date exchanges.

Two aspiring young writers meet in a Chicago neighborhood on the cusp of gentrification. Ciara, a Black American poet, and Cormac, an Irish writer on a J1 visa. They connect over their shared love of language, literature, and the art of cruelty. What begins as fun flirtation transforms into an intense summer romance—until immigration, bad decisions, and unspoken truths tear them apart.
