Chef and the Child 4-H Camp
Come have a blast at our cooking camp for kids taught by professional chefs.
Join us for an exciting, hands-on culinary experience as we partner with the Chef & Child Foundation to make a difference right here in Guilford County! Youth will step into the kitchen at the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Guilford County Center to learn essential cooking skills while supporting a meaningful cause—fighting childhood hunger.
Guided by culinary professionals, participants will build confidence in the kitchen as they practice knife safety, follow recipes, and explore a variety of cooking techniques. Along the way, they’ll discover how food can be a powerful tool for helping others.
The Chef & Child Foundation, the charitable arm of the American Culinary Federation, is dedicated to ending childhood hunger through education, outreach, and service. This program is designed for youth ages 8–12 and combines fun, learning, and purpose into one unforgettable experience.
August 11th - 14th
10am - 2pm, Daily
Open to ages 7-13 (age as of Jan 1, 2026)
You will need:
- Closed toe shoes
- Long hair will need to be tied back
Keep In Mind:
- This camp often has a waitlist. If your child is unable to attend camp after registration, please let us know as soon as possible so that we may offer their spot to someone else.
- We will begin camp on time. To ensure you do not miss anything, please be on time.
- All youth participating must enroll in 4-H Online. You will receive more information about this after registration. Enrollment MUST be completed by July 31st. If you do not enroll by July 31st, we will offer your spot to the next person on the waiting list.
For the safety of your child, as well as consideration for our staff and instructors, please do not bring your child more than 10 minutes early and pick them up on time. Failure to pick-up your camper within 30 minutes of the program ending, will result in your child being enrolled in our aftercare program and you will be charged $25 for that day.
All youth must enroll in 4-H. Enrollment is free, but is required before participating. During enrollment, you will be asked if you understand and agree to abide by the North Carolina 4-H Youth Development Program Liability Waiver, Assumption of the Risk, Photo & Media Release, and Indemnification Agreements.
