2026 Aboriginal Men’s Health & Wellness Sharing Circle

Join Aboriginal men, community leaders and practitioners for a powerful four‑day gathering focused on the social and cultural determinants of Aboriginal men’s mental health and wellbeing. Held at The Glen Centre on Darkinjung Country, this Sharing Circle will provide a culturally safe space for connection, learning and healing.
The program features keynote presentations, yarning and sharing circles, cultural workshops, panel discussions, and site visits, all designed to strengthen identity, resilience and community‑led solutions. Participants will work together to develop practical strategies they can take back to their own communities.
This gathering builds on the success of the 2025 event and continues important conversations led by Aboriginal men, for Aboriginal men.
Setting the foundation
The gathering opens with a welcome and cultural grounding, followed by reflections on learnings from previous gatherings. The day then explores key social and cultural factors that impact Aboriginal men’s mental health and wellbeing, leading into small group yarning and strategic planning sessions to begin shaping practical, community‑based responses.
Learning from experience
focuses on what’s happening on the ground in communities. Participants share what’s working, what’s challenging, and discuss wellbeing and recovery experiences. Conversations then turn to understanding mental health challenges and identifying community‑led strategies to support healing and resilience.
Culture, connection and learning
This highlights culture as a source of healing and strength. It includes shared discussions on the role of family and community in supporting men’s wellbeing, followed by site visits that allow participants to learn from different settings and approaches.
Bringing it together
The final day centres on allyship, collaboration and collective responsibility. Participants come together to reflect, summarise key learnings, and strengthen shared strategies before closing the gathering.
