About the BoF

AI is becoming a structural shift in developer tooling, and the Eclipse IDE and Platform cannot stay on the sidelines.

This shift introduces real challenges: limited AI development tooling today, integration constraints within existing architectures, and rapidly evolving expectations from developers and organisations.

At the same time, it creates a significant opportunity to embed AI capabilities directly into the Eclipse Platform, notably through initiatives such as MCP and ACP.

This Birds of a Feather session is designed as an open discussion to explore:

• How to position the Eclipse IDE and the Rich Client Platform in the AI era
• How to make AI enablement a first class capability of the Platform
• How AI integration can reinforce adoption of Eclipse platform-based products

Why Attend?

• Engage directly with the Eclipse IDE and Platform community
• Share your perspective on AI integration in developer tools
• Discuss real constraints and opportunities with peers
• Help shape the future direction of Eclipse Platform technologies
• Connect with contributors, adopters, and decision makers
