New York gives people thousands of places to be around each other and very few places to actually connect. That's why The Art Meetup is coming back to the park this summer.
The Art Meetup is self funded and community supported. Donations directly help pay for permits, art and craft supplies, sound equipment, signage, volunteer support, and the many costs involved in creating welcoming spaces where artists, musicians, and neighbors can gather, connect, and share their work.
Expect live painting, music, local artists, handmade goods, creative workshops, open spaces hangouts, free crafts, and hundreds of NYC creatives gathering together outdoors.
All ages are welcome, but this gathering is primarily designed for adults who want to create, meet other creative people, make friends, collaborate, and spend time in a relaxed community setting.
A lot of people come solo. Most people leave knowing someone.
Last time strangers exchanged Instagrams, planned collaborations, shared sketchbooks in the grass, took photos together, and made plans to meet again the following week.
Come spend the afternoon creating, relaxing, meeting people naturally, and being around energy that feels warm instead of performative.
Artists, photographers, designers, musicians, writers, and curious people from all over NYC are welcome.
A quick RSVP today makes it much easier to show up later.
Vendors, artists, vintage sellers, and small creative businesses are also invited to join. There is no vendor fee. A suggested $10 donation helps support community art supplies, equipment, and future gatherings.
