Join the artists of I Remember It Better for a casual reception in the Distillery studios.

You're invited to meet the artists behind the scenes at the Brew House Artist Distillery studios. On Saturday May 30, 11-2pm, the Distillery Artists-in-Residence will be hosting the public for a casual reception. Take a peek inside their studios, and stay for conversation. Tea, coffee and snacks provided. Music provided by TIZA.

I Remember It Better, the 2026 Distillery Residency Exhibition will also be on view in the gallery.

This year’s Artists-in-Residence are Kaylani Brown, Liv Cocozza, Darya Kharabi, Ethan Marks, Sara Ruiz, Isabella Schubert-Jones, and Dominique Swift.

Tickets available on a sliding scale from $0-$20. Any proceeds will help support Brew House Arts exhibition programming.

The Distillery residency is one of BHA’s longest running programs—a year-long studio residency designed to help seven Pittsburgh-based emerging artists transition into a professional artistic career by supporting a rigorous studio practice and providing professional development opportunities in a creative and affordable environment. Selected artists are given access to a private studio, mentorship, professional development programming, and are featured in the group exhibition.

The title of this year’s exhibition speaks to the process of looking back, and the tendency to compare where we are with where we’ve been. This year’s artists-in-residence present seven distinct worlds, with their own unique aesthetic and material qualities, nevertheless united by a focus on the past—through memory, history, and found materials. The works in I Remember It Better show that the past is not a fixed reality, but is actively constructed through looking backward, looking forward, and in making space for the dissonance of being in-between.
