Overview

Coin Ring Class

In this class we will begin with safety first of course! We'll go over all of the PPE available , when and why to use it.(Eyes, ears, and hair)

We'll go over the properties of Ferrous vs non Ferrous material. How they are similar and how they differ.

We'll go over the annealing and work hardening processes

We will discuss how to build a ring made from a US quarter (Half dollar for large sizes) without disturbing the text on the coin

We will build our Rings learning how to properly hammer, stretch, and reduce it in size to make it fit.

We will discuss the structural soundness of triangles and how this impedes the reduction process of reducing our Rings in size, and what to do to overcome that

We will clean and polish the rings

We will return all equipment to it's designated place

We'll Finish up with returning all equipment and shop cleanup, a question and answer period, and a test to see how many of the details explained were retained.

*** This class is open to all ages that have the attention span to listen to my instruction without disturbing the class. I will ask if there are any questions after each segment of instruction.
