Do I have to get on stage?

No! But you're allowed to change your mind at any time. Most first-time audience-members find themselves ready to jump on stage before they know it!

Do I need improv experience?

It helps, but we review the rules of each game before we play, because even experienced improvisers know endless variations of the same games.

What do you mean by "all ages?"

If your child is old enough to stand, and WANTS to be on stage, they can participate in the performance games. If they want to participate, but NOT be on stage, we have several "all play" games as well that involve everyone in the room without putting anyone on the spot.

What the heck are short form and long form?

Different styles of improv. Short form consists of structured "games," like those seen on "Whose Line is it, Anyway?" Long form is also structured, but the structure is much looser, allowing for (much) longer scenes and more developed characters.

Is this short form, or long form?

For now, short form. If we get enough demand for a monthly long-form jam, we'll add one, so let us know if you're interested.

Overview

An all-ages afternoon of family-friendly play-along improv games. Hosted by a professional improv coach & emcee!

One ticket admits two adults (18+) and two youth (under 18).
Additional youth tickets can be added for $5/each at checkout.

A once-a month chance to cut loose on stage with family-friendly improv games. All ages are welcome to participate!

Improv comedy veteran Emily Dugan hosts and MCs, drawing on her years of experience hosting for the Chicago Improv Festival, as well as over 25+ years of professional coaching and performance experience.

Join us on stage or just relax and enjoy the show-- either way you'll find yourself experiencing something entirely unexpected before the event is through!
