Cocktail Class: The Mexican Spirits Experience
Get ready to shake up your cocktail game with some of my favorite agave and gin mixes in a fun, hands-on session!
Casa de Ruiseñor Presents: The Tequila, Mezcal & Sotol Experience
A Hands-on Mexican Spirits Class by IDrinkICan
Join IDrinkICan this Sunday at Casa de Ruiseñor for a special outdoor Mexican Spirits class, celebrating the richness, tradition, and versatility of Mezcal, Tequila and Sotol. This intimate, hands-on cocktail class will spotlight Bixhidu Mezcal Espadín as the featured spirit of the evening, with Ruiseñor Tequila Blanco and Acrónimo Sotol also featured.
Set on the patio at Pablo’s home, the owner of Ruiseñor Tequila, this relaxed and personal gathering offers guests the rare chance to learn about Mexican spirits in the company of the people and stories behind them. Located just 7 minutes from Bar Keeper, where I work as a Spirits Expert, the setting makes for a fitting neighborhood experience dedicated to agave, sotol, and cocktail culture.
During the class, guests will explore the distinct personalities of mezcal, tequila, and sotol through guided tasting, hands-on drink building, and practical bartending instruction. We’ll cover the fundamentals of flavor, balance, and cocktail structure while demonstrating techniques you can recreate at home. Along the way, we’ll also discuss spirit production, Mexican drinking traditions, and how classic cocktail frameworks can be adapted to showcase these exceptional bottles.

- A 2-hour guided agave spirits experience
- Hands-on cocktail building featuring tequila, mezcal, and sotol
- Guided tasting and education on Mexican Spirits, production, and flavor balance
