Event details

Founded in 2020 by Felix Heisel, the Circular Construction Lab (CCL) at Cornell University’s College of Architecture, Art, and Planning houses a design research program that, at the core of its mission, advances the construction industry from linear material consumption to a circular economy. For CCL, this mission is two-fold: to activate the built environment as it currently exists for reuse and reconfiguration; and to design and construct buildings that can act as material depots for future construction. Working closely with academic, industrial, and political partners, CCL ensures the direct and full-scale implementation of its research, including policy white papers on deconstruction and building material reuse, toward a more sustainable construction industry
