What is the Plant-a-thon?

The Plant-a-thon is one of the most impactful events of the year at JK Community Farm, bringing together volunteers of all ages and backgrounds to make a tangible difference in our fight against hunger. Over the course of two days, we will work together to plant thousands of vegetable seedlings, ensuring a bountiful harvest for the months ahead. These crops will be grown, harvested, and distributed to our food pantry partners, providing fresh, nutrient-dense meals to families in need.

What to Expect as a Volunteer

• Arrive & Check-In – Volunteers will be welcomed by our team and given a brief introduction to JK Community Farm’s mission and the importance of the Plantathon.
• Get Your Hands Dirty! – In a two-hour shift, you’ll join a team of fellow volunteers to plant thousands of seedlings that will grow into fresh produce.
• Enjoy the Outdoors & Give Back – Working on the farm is a fun and rewarding experience, perfect for individuals, families, corporate teams, and community groups.
