How to Pitch Your Project Workshop

What does it take to create a dynamic pitch that will capture the attention of a film or TV executive? In this workshop, we’ll go over all the elements that make a successful pitch, and get your dream project communicated in the best way possible. We’ll discuss: who are the right people to hear the pitch, the stages of people to pitch to, how to construct a pitch (with templates to be shared), creating pitch materials, to be used both before and after a pitch, and the importance of leaving your audience knowing the ‘why me’ and the ‘why now’.

Get to know Jennie Church-Cooper:

Peabody Award-winning manager/producer Jennie Church-Cooper has spent the last 18 years working with comedic writer-performers — scouting, cultivating, and propelling them into careers as TV and feature writers, showrunners, directors, podcasters, actors and more. In 2026 she launched her own management company with her longtime clients, Hello Sailor Media. Previously, she worked at Levity Entertainment and Haven Entertainment, and she built her roster of multihyphenate talent during seven years at Principato Young Entertainment (now Artists First). In addition to numerous comedy specials, Church-Cooper exec produced Netflix’s talk show Patriot Act, which ran for six seasons. Since 2019, she has also served on the Leadership Committee for the nonprofit Yes, And Laughter Lab, a competitive incubation lab, pitch program, and showcase that champions and amplifies diverse writers and performers creating new comedy about topics that matter. She is an in-demand speaker for organizations such as the Ladies of Comedy Association, and the Austin Film Festival Writers Conference, addressing topics such as finding your own creative voice, and the business of breaking into film & TV writing.
