Interested in integrating digital tools, methods, and technologies into your work? Come to UCR’s Digital Scholarship Meetups!

Each quarter, the UCR Library DS meetups cultivate community conversations on digital tools, methods, and technologies and facilitate collaborative learning and connection across all disciplines at UCR. Digital Scholarship Librarian Jing Han coordinates the meetups. April 21st at 2 p.m. on Zoom: Join us for a demonstration of <a href="http://glycerine.io/" title="http://glycerine.io/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Glycerine</a>, a IIIF-compatible image annotation platform for research, curation, and education. We will begin with a brief introduction to the International Image Interoperability Framework (IIIF), including how IIIF supports high-resolution image delivery, interoperability across repositories, and scholarly annotation workflows. This overview will provide useful context for faculty, graduate students, and digital scholarship practitioners who work with archival materials, visual culture collections, or digital exhibits.Following the introduction, our guest speaker will provide a hands-on demonstration of Glycerine’s core features, including:<ul><li>Loading and navigating IIIF manifests</li><li>Creating and managing annotations</li><li>Collaborative and pedagogical use cases</li><li>Integrating annotated materials into research and teaching workflows</li></ul>This workshop is suitable for researchers, instructors, students, and anyone interested in image annotations and IIIF-based tools.Guest Speaker: Isobel Andrews is Implementation and Design Lead at Systemik Solutions, an innovative consulting group and Digital Humanities lab based in Sydney. Systemik is the team behind <a href="http://glycerine.io/" title="http://glycerine.io/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Glycerine</a>, a IIIF-compatible image annotation platform for research, curation, and education. Isobel consults directly with Digital Humanities clients to implement their projects using Glycerine and Systemik's other digital platforms.
