Join us for a lunchtime discussion about GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and geospatial inquiry. Topics include research, instruction, upcoming events, learning opportunities, and practical applications. A brief presentation is often included.
UCR affiliates from all disciplines and departments, at all skill levels, are welcome and encouraged to attend!
Zoom information will be emailed to registered participants before the meetup begins.
All participants are expected to follow and uphold UC Riverside's Principles of Community.
Tentative presenters/topics:
- April 7: Drones: Technology, Applications, and Impact for College Students (online via Zoom or attend in-person in Orbach Library, Room 122) The presenter will share background information on drone technology, regulations, and applications, and will discuss capturing aerial images of the UCR Botanic Gardens. Bonus: the presenter will fly his drone at the Bell Tower immediately after the meetup!
