Stitching on Paper: Beginner Embroidered Cards
In this hands-on workshop, you will learn how to embroider on paper to create a unique, textured design perfect for gifting or framing.
We will cover the basics of transferring a design, piercing paper, threading a needle, and using basic stitches to add decorative detail. Participants will receive step-by-step instruction and have the opportunity to personalize their card with their own color choices and additional details.
No prior embroidery experience is required. All supplies are included, and you will leave with a beautifully hand-stitched card.
About the teacher:
Melissa Hawkins is a lifelong crafter and self-taught artist who works across many mediums, including drawing, painting, knitting, crocheting, sewing, embroidery, and handmade jewelry. She believes the value of art lies in the act of making, not the final result.
She is constantly exploring new crafts and techniques, regardless of imperfection or how many unfinished projects she has piling up. Most pieces are made with the close supervision of her loving cat, Kiki, who faithfully keeps Melissa company and leaves her fur on every project.
