21st Annual Royale Kentucky Derby w/ Dawn Weber's Boogaloo
Don your hats, and press your seersucker it is time for *the* party of the year on Saint Louis's premier courtyard for the Kentucky Derby.
Don your hats, press your seersucker! It’s time for the 20th Annual Royale Derby Party.
We kick things off at 2pm in the courtyard, with live music rolling shortly after and the race going off just before 6. Same bands, same party, we are just hoping for clear skies this year.
Music starts with Dawn Weber’s Boogaloo at 4:15pm. Hat Contest at 5:30, race at 5:57, then another set from Dawn Weber to carry us through the evening. Hat contest just prior to post time at 5:30.
Dress the part for this is one of the few days we actually expect it. Go big on the hats.
We’ll have a limited number of reserved tables available, plus general admission. GA seating is first come, first served, so get here early if you want a good spot.
Rain or shine, we’re doing this.

Musical Entertainment
The ST. LOUIS BANJO CLUB was formed in 1969 and has continuously brought the sounds of the four-string banjo to audiences for more than 50 years. The Club currently has 54 members encompassing ages from 16 to a young 90+. As many as twenty players show up on the fourth Thursday of each month to play music, mostly from the early 1900s, also known fondly as the songs from “Tin Pan Alley”. The Club members strive to keep this music alive and well for many years to come. We really appreciate the support of our audience and encourage you to sing-a-long to the songs. The lyrics to those songs are projected on the wall, not unlike the old “Shakey Pizza” days. Everyone who plays a four-string banjo is welcome to become a member. If you are new to the banjo, you will find a group of people who will help you learn and improve your banjo skills.
