Anne Richmond Boston brings her long-awaited solo work to the Rialto Club at Hotel Indigo Athens on April 27. Best known for her work with The Swimming Pool Q’s, Anne will perform songs from her recently released, long-lost album I Should Be Happy, originally recorded in the 1990s and finally released in 2025.
The album features a mix of heartfelt originals and carefully chosen covers, exploring themes of longing, reflection, and resilience. Backed by a talented ensemble of longtime collaborators, Anne’s performance promises an intimate evening of rich vocals, thoughtful songwriting, and a rare chance to experience this rediscovered chapter of Atlanta music history live. 🎶
I Should Be Happy was originally recorded with a core band of Anne on vocals, Rob Gal,
guitar; Eric Weissinger, bass; John Cerreta, keyboard; and Dirk Dominick, drums.
Other musicians include David Barbe (Sugar, Mercyland) on piano; Billy Conway
(Morphine, Treat Her Right) drums; Bob Elsey (The Swimming Pool Q’s), guitar, and
mandolin; Michael Lorant (Big Fish Ensemble, Indigo Girls), drums; Barry Sell, bass
and mandolin; William Tonks, dobro and guitar; Brad Quinn (Tommy Keene), bass; and
McKendrick Bearden, piano and guitar.
