Wire-Wrapping & Chain-Making Jewelry One-Day Workshop

Artascope StudiosYarmouth, ME
Sunday, May 10  •  10 AM - 5 PM
Overview

Learn how to make a chain link necklace with gemstones using a mallet and bench block.

Sunday, May 10th from 10:00AM-5:00PM

Students will learn wire-wrapping and chain-making techniques using various tools such as needle nose pliers, and a mallet and blench block to make a custom chain link necklace with 20-gauge wire. Larimar gemstones (pictured in cover image) will be available to add to your finished piece or you can bring your own favorite beads. (These techniques are noisy, so bring noise-canceling headphones or earplugs if you are sensitive to loud sounds).

$99 workshop fee does not include materials. The estimated $35* materials kit can be purchased from the instructor with cash or Venmo at the beginning of the workshop. (For safety, be sure to wear closed toe shoes and have long hair pulled back with clips or in a ponytail.)

*NOTE: This is an approximate kit cost and actual cost may be different due to the metals market fluctuation in 2026.

NOTE: Eventbrite charges non-refundable processing fees for online payments and now displays these fees in the total ticket price shown on this event listing.

We will have an hour break for lunch midday. The studio will be closed during this break, but there are nearby parks where you can eat lunch if you brought your own, or you can check out one of the local restaurants in the area.

Open to ages 13 and up if accompanied by an adult.

About the instructor: Helia Shafa is an artist who loves to create handcrafted jewelry using symmetry and mathematics. She uses natural minerals and gemstones in all her designs. Nature comes in many forms and she loves to use what the earth has provided.
