The Science of Pop Tarts & Single Barrel Pairings with Kurt & Lesley Grady

Kurt & Lesley Grady have dove deep into pairing whiskey and Pop Tarts. Why? Because it's fun and whiskey is supposed to be fun!

There is no doubt this is going to be one of our most unique events in the history of the ABV Barrel Shop. Kurt and Lesley Grady are simply whiskey fans. Like many whiskey fans, they enjoy science (there is so much science to whiskey) and having fun. When Lesley had a hunch Pop Tarts might go with whiskey, the two of them went down a rabbit hole of cataloging Pop Tarts and whiskey pairings. Factors like toasted vs. non-toasted, what if you add butter, do certain mashbills make for better pairings, are there some pairings that make both the whiskey and the Pop Tart better?

It's just going to be a fun light-hearted look at both the pairings Kurt and Lesley present, as well as how far you can take a fun idea and do enough research it literally becomes science itself.
