Do I need to wear dance shoes?

No, but it helps. Shoes for tango are light and flexible with a slippery sole, most commonly made of leather. You can wear most types of dance shoes, including character shoes, ballroom shoes, salsa shoes, and ballet slippers. We do not recommend wearing high heels that are not dance shoes.

Do I need to come with a partner?

No. Most people come without a partner, and then switch partners throughout the class. If you come with someone and you would like to practice with them the whole time, then you can stick together when others are changing partners.
