Recognizing Harmful Practices
Violence doesn’t always look like screaming, yelling, fighting, or physical harm. Sometimes it's the way we talk to ourselves. This year, we’re going to recognize those patterns without judgment and focusing on the small ways people can choose self-love.
Changing Self-Talk
Cara will reframe what it means to be human in a world that often labels anything different as a problem to fix. This talk will discuss how many of the struggles they experience are natural responses from a nervous system doing its job. Attendees will learn how to separate what they feel from who they are.
Losing a Loved One
As a survivor of her own trauma, Jolleen will share the story of how her beloved son took his own life. This conversation will hold space for grief and the pain that follows suicide loss. Jolleen’s story will open a conversation about what it means to survive that kind of loss and how compassion can make people feel less alone in their grief.
