  • Introduction to safe gun handling, shooting safety, and firearms maintenance.
  • Learn hands-on about various types of handguns and operation.
  • Understand legal issues concerning self-defens, including use of deadly force, police interaction, aftermath, in-home and out-of-home scenarios.
  • Cost: $100 per person


If you own a firearm, we highly recommend that you bring it to class, even if you don’t want to use it to qualify on the range. Rental firearms will be available for clients who do not own one.

If you are thinking about purchasing a gun, we are happy to assist you in selecting the best type for you.

All training and shooting is held on private property, away from distractions. Classes are small with no other shooters present.

Address and directions will be provided prior to class date.

KCCH Range Qualification Requirements:

  • 5 shots (one-handed) at 3 yards.
  • 10 shots (two-handed) at 7 yards, and
  • 10 shots (two-handed) at 10 yards. 18 hits total required.

If the student fails the range qualification, they can re-qualify. We will provide additional gun training as required for qualification.

What to bring:

  • Kansas Driver's License or ID card (your KDL number will become your CCH license number).
  • Guns and ammo (if available).
  • Hearing and eye protection (if available)
  • Beverages (no alcohol)

Bottled water and snacks will be provided. Firearms, ammo, and personal protective equipment can be provided for students who don't have their own.

Please Note:

  • No firearms experience required. Beginners are welcome.
  • No children, pets, or guests of any kind are allowed during class. Students only.
  • Laws are strict and complicated as to who may legally handle firearms. If there are any felonies or domestic misdemeanors in yours past, please contact us ahead of time to discuss. There is also information available on the Kansas Attorney General's website, here.
