Bake up a poem while your hand pie is in the oven!

Craft a hand pie while learning about ekphrastic poetry (writing about art). You’ll choose between an apple or strawberry hand pie to create and, while Rebecca takes you through the recipe, she’ll talk about how to develop a poem. As the hand pies bake, you’ll put pen to paper.

You’ll have some time for snacking on your hand pies (if you’d like) or for sharing your poetry drafts in a no-pressure environment.

Open to all levels of bakers and poets—no experience necessary!

• What’s Included:
• 2 hours of baking and poetry instruction
• All ingredients to make at least one apple or one strawberry hand pie
• Written feedback on the poem you wrote in class (optional)
• Paper and pen (but bring your favorite notebook/pens if you’d prefer!)

* The recipe we’ll be using is egg-free and nut-free but is not gluten-free or dairy-free. Please note this is not a dedicated allergen-free facility.
