Craft Your Own Cutting Board- June 20th
Build your own unique wood cutting board in this fun, hands-on workshop! All woodworking levels welcome!
Make your own cutting board with Urban Boatbuilders! Our cutting board class is your chance to get hands-on in the shop, learn new skills, and create something uniquely yours. Taught by Urban Boatbuilders program alum Bao, you will be guided step-by-step on how to use tools such as the miter saw, and to create a durable, food-safe cutting board to take home. The class runs from 10AM-3PM and includes a one hour break to allow the glue to dry. One board per person.
Instructor: Bao (they/them)
Class fee: $85 (Includes $25 materials cost)
Materials: Cherry, walnut, maple
Cutting board size cannot exceed 12 in x 9 in.
Class capacity: max of 5 people
IMPORTANT: This course does require (safe) use of power tools, sharp hand tools and standing for an extended time. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable but not loose clothing. Closed-toed shoes are required. It is helpful to bring snacks and a water bottle (no alcohol). The shop is heated, but we do not have AC. All participants will sign a liability waiver prior to class.
This class is paced and intended for adults. All participants must be 18 year of age or older. We may be able to accommodate a mixed-age group with a private class, please email info@urbanboatbuilders.org.
Youth classes are structured and priced differently - please email ed@urbanboatbuilders.org.
