Person Place Thing – Live Podcast Recording at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church

Join us for a special live recording of the beloved podcast Person Place Thing with host Randy Cohen, coming to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church on Thursday, April 16, 2026 at 6:00 PM.

This engaging evening will feature a thoughtful and lively conversation with Bishop Katrina Foster, along with a musical performance by Broadway artist Ashley Wool.

Person Place Thing is an interview show based on the idea that people are most engaging when they speak not directly about themselves, but about something they care about—person, place, or thing. Expect humor, insight, and surprising stories in a warm, intimate setting.

About the Host
St. Luke’s Lutheran Church is celebrating 175 years of being “in the city for good.” We serve our community by hosting recovery groups, uplifting the performing arts, training interns, supporting youth programs, and providing a place of solace and inspiration for all. Our Soup Kitchen serves over 20,000 hot meals each year to anyone in need.

We are currently in the midst of our $2 million capital campaign, Building Our Future: A Place for Everyone, working to restore and protect our historic building so these vital ministries can continue for generations to come.

About Bishop Katrina Foster

Bishop Katrina Foster was ordained on December 4, 1994, and served at Fordham Evangelical Lutheran Church in the Bronx from 1994 to 2010 — establishing the congregation as a powerhouse for faith-based community organizing. Bishop Foster then served St. Michael’s Lutheran Church in Amagansett, NY, building a $13 million, 40-unit low-income senior housing project, and Incarnation Lutheran Church in Bridgehampton, NY, from 2010 to 2015, and St. John’s Lutheran Church in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, from 2015 to 2025, teaching financial stewardship and financial literacy.

The particular ministries of evangelism, discipleship, and financial stewardship have been passions of Bishop Foster throughout her thirty years of parish ministry in MNYS. She is also focused on building affordable housing throughout the synod and hopes to inspire the wider church with these passions and new directions for ministry.

Pastor Foster lives in the Bronx, commutes to the synod offices by train, and believes that the city's mass transit system is a glimpse of what the Kingdom of God looks like.

Tickets: $10
All are welcome.
Ticket sales will benefit St. Luke's and the Metropolitan New York Synod.

Come be part of a meaningful evening of conversation, music, and community—and support the ongoing work of St. Luke’s.
