Learn the basics of drawing from materials and shading, to movement and proportion—all that you need to capture the world around you.
Develop your drawing skills through guided lessons and personalized support in a creative, encouraging environment.
Learn fundamental techniques such asobservation, proportion, shading, and texture to bring depth and realism to your artwork.
In this class, you will learn:
• how to observe and draw accurately
• to create depth and dimension through value and contrast
• how to breakdown complex subjects into basic shapes
• shading and blending techniques
• to add detail and texture to bring your drawings to life
By the end of the course, students will walk away with a finished drawing and gain the tools needed to continue growing as artists.
This is a studio class and students will be using their supplies on the first week.
Supply List for Students to Bring on Week 1:
- Drawing paper (preferably large)
- graphite pencils in a variety of H and B
- vine charcoal
- erasers (kneaded & white vinyl)
- tracing tissue
- blenders / stumps
