Overview

Fridays @ Refuge ~Before. During. Afters~

Refuge NYC sets the pace for the night. From Devoye’s fluid, genre-spanning pulse to Marteka Fair’s tightly coiled, evolving structures, the energy shifts and deepens in waves. Tensal drives forward with a precise, ever-morphing force shaped on the global stage, while Anthony Parasole anchors the room with a lineage forged in New York’s foundations. Through the REX Sound System, it all connects—past, present, and future locked into one system.

Devoye is a Bronx-born, DJ and producer channeling a global pulse through house and techno. Rooted in Jamaican heritage and shaped by hip-hop and electronic traditions, his sets weave across genres with a sharp, instinctive touch. With releases on Coloring Lessons, Haus of Altr, and 3afak, Devoye brings a deeply felt, emotionally charged approach to the floor—one that’s as fluid as it is undeniable.

Marteka Fair is a North Carolina–based producer and DJ shaping a sound where hypnotic techno meets intricate, polyrhythmic design. Her work leans into repetition and tension, building layered, evolving structures that unfold over time. Having shared lineups with artists like Rrose, Rødhåd, and DVS1, and performed at institutions such as Tresor and The Great Beyond, Marteka brings a focused, long-form approach to every set. Beyond her solo work, she’s one half of Mit Filter and co-creator of Liminal Space, extending her vision into collaborative and audiovisual realms.

Anthony Parasole is a Brooklyn-born mainstay of New York’s house and techno lineage, known for deep, uncompromising selections that bridge NYC grit with global club culture. With releases on Ostgut Ton, Dekmantal, and the force behind The Corner, his influence runs from underground warehouse parties to institutions like Berghain and Shelter. With decades in the game, Parasole continues to shape dance floors with a sound rooted in tradition but built for the long haul.

Tensal is the solo project of Héctor Sandoval (Exium), channeling a modern, cyclical vision of techno built on analog exploration and rhythmic experimentation. Through releases on labels like Mord, Soma, Modularz, and ARTS, as well as his own Tensal Records, he’s carved out a sound that balances physical impact with intricate, evolving structures. A regular at key venues such as RSO, KHIDI, Tresor he brings that same intensity into deeply immersive sets driven largely by his own productions—pushing techno forward while staying firmly rooted in its core.

Refuge Hi-Def Dance Club is a 500-cap underground nightclub in East Williamsburg built around sound, energy, and atmosphere. At its core is REX, a custom 4-point system designed by co-founder Craig “Shorty” Bernabeu, with four 10-foot stacks surrounding the dance floor for a powerful, immersive experience. Each night is curated to push that system to its full potential — a true Musical Arts Performance in every sense.

21+ only. All sales are final.
