Acclaimed guitarist Sebastián Molina celebrates his new solo album, joined by Duo Encuentro de Dos Mundos (guitar and  mezzo soprano).

Join us for a special evening of solo classical guitar with Sebastián Molina and Duo Encuentro de Dos Mundos, a mezzo-soprano and guitar duo featuring Belem Abraham and Mr. Molina.Mr. Molina, a Chilean classical guitarist, celebrates the release of his newest recording, <a href="https://open.spotify.com/artist/3kwnD6pBbyIPp25M0AOxTM?si=KAQBymzURLigUyBT4Rh4iQ" title="https://open.spotify.com/artist/3kwnD6pBbyIPp25M0AOxTM?si=KAQBymzURLigUyBT4Rh4iQ" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Urban Landscapes</a>. The album brings together sounds, textures, and expressive elements characteristic of modern musical language. It evokes the imagery of great cities, offering diverse sonic landscapes while maintaining an underlying connection to the natural environment. The program features works by contemporary composers Felipe Pinto D’Aguiar, Felipe González Bustamante, David Leisner, and others.Duo Encuentro de Dos Mundos has performed, recorded, and toured worldwide since 2011. The duo’s name reflects their versatility, allowing them to interpret a wide range of music—from classical repertoire to Latin American roots traditions. Their program features works by Fernando Sor, Gioachino Rossini, Manuel de Falla, and more.This concert is presented in collaboration with the <a href="https://guitarraxxi.cl/english/" title="https://guitarraxxi.cl/english/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Ernesto Quezada Guitar Foundation.</a> ABOUT THE ARTISTSBelem Abraham holds a Cum Laude Degree in Music and Opera Singing from the Music Institute of Alberto Hurtado University in Santiago-Chile. She furthered her training at the Manhattan Opera Studio program in New York.She has performed in operas and as a solo mezzo-soprano in Chile and the United States. In 2017, she was a semifinalist in the Cita D'Álcamo international competition in Sicily, Italy.She has participated in two albums: the first, with her duo Encuentro de Dos Mundos (2013), and in the second Chilean opera album, conducted by his maestro Gonzalo Cuadra (2019), entitled "Al rumor de la Batalla". Belem makes the first recording and world premiere of the aria "Ya me choke la ashes" from the "Cinderella" by composer Pedro Humberto Allende. She has participated in concerts in Richard Wagner's opera Die Walküre in the role of Waltraute, conducted by Benoit Renard, in Manhattan. Her solo performances include appearances at the National Opera Center and Carnegie Hall. Sebastián Molina is a Chilean classical guitarist and educator based in New York.He has built a vibrant international career and has performed successfully in Europe, the United States, and several countries in Latin America.His most recent awards include The Andrés Segovia/Rose Augustine Award from the Manhattan School of Music, an Honorable Mention at the 2024 Buffalo International Guitar Festival and Competition in Buffalo, NY, and University Mayor Alumni Global Award 2025.He earned a Master of Music degree from The Manhattan School of Music in 2024, under the guidance of renowned guitarist and mentor, David Leisner. He completed his undergraduate studies at the Conservatory of Music of Universidad Mayor in Chile In addition, he completed a degree in Musical Education of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.He has performed at distinguished festivals in the United States, including the Guitar Foundation of America (GFA) International Convention and The Village Trip GuitarFest.In Latin America, his acclaimed performances include the ‘Fred Schneiter Festival’ in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; the ‘Encuentro Guitarrístico de Choroní’ in Venezuela; ‘Latinoamérica de Concierto’ in Bogotá, Colombia; ‘Sonamos Latinoamérica’ with editions in Mexico, Peru, and Argentina; and the ‘Festival Entrecuerdas’ in Chile.Sebastián has released two independent albums. His debut solo guitar recording, Recital al Sur and his second album titled El Lado Violeta de una Conquista, was produced with his duet Encuentro de Dos Mundos, formed with his wife, the distinguished mezzo-soprano Belem Abraham.
