Flower Days: A Wine Dinner with Hermann J. Wiemer
Wine, charcuterie & pressed-flower cake under the stars with Hermann J. Wiemer, the first certified biodynamic winery on the east coast
Come hang with our Finger Lakes friends!
Join us on Thursday, April 9th for a small wine dinner with Cameron Mills of Hermann J. Wiemer (who has a fancy Director of Trade Relations and Development title but prefers the job description “to convey with genuineness and enthusiasm all that is Wiemer!”) We were inspired by their Flower Day Riesling (a biodynamic reference Cameron will explain!) + cherry blossom season in DC to make it a floral-themed night 🌸
Here’s what to expect:
Four special wines from Wiemer, a beautiful grazing table of cheese & charcuterie from La Jambe, and a pressed flower cake from our market mates L&N Cake. Dinner will be under the stars on the Union Market patio, weather permitting, otherwise we’ll be inside in a reserved area.
Background from Charlotte:
I worked harvest at Wiemer this past fall and am so excited to have our first winemaker dinner series be with them! Wiemer was the first certified biodynamic vineyard & winery on the east coast, and they’ve been pesticide free since 2004. They actually walk the walk on environmental stewardship. Wiemer’s wines are not just good for east coast or even American standards - these are truly world class wines grown by wonderful, down-to-earth people. Cameron, who I met during harvest, is one of said people. He comes with 23 years of industry experience, during which he has tasted more than 15,000 wines and has hosted 100+ wine dinners and educational classes. He’s the best.
I’ll be around to answer any of your burning harvest questions and share stories of life on the farm! (Spoiler: yes, I did stomp on grapes.)
We want this to be an intimate producer dinner where you can actually chat with Cameron, so we’re releasing a limited number of tickets. Hurry before they’re gone!
🎟️ $90 pp + tax
