SEA & SKY: Abstracting the Coastline

Loosen up and let the ocean take over! In this expressive 5-hour acrylic workshop, we’ll dive into the beauty of clouds and sea—not as perfect replicas, but as emotional, abstracted impressions of a clear, sunlit day by the water.

Guided by the shapes, colors, and rhythms of coastal skies and ocean waves, you’ll explore how to simplify forms, push color, and use bold brushwork to capture the feeling of the shoreline. Think soft clouds as swirls of white and blush across ultramarine skies, or shimmering seas reduced to layered blues, expressive strokes, and reflective marks.

We’ll explore composition, color harmony, texture, and layering—giving you the tools to interpret your own vision of sky and sea in a way that’s personal and powerful.
