Compass Healthcare Facilities Symposium is on Friday, Sept 11, 2026 from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm. The event is at DoubleTree by Hilton on 363 Maine Mall Road, South Portland, Maine.

Who attends Compass Symposium?

Accepted Answer

Attendees are decision-makers responsible for healthcare facilities. Many lead hospital system facilities teams. Other titles include Director of Capital Projects, CFO, Executive Director, or Owner. Architects and engineers specializing in healthcare can also attend Compass as Supporting Affiliates.

How many professionals attend Compass?

Compass typically has 100-120 in attendance, which is the capacity of the event.

What is the exhibitor space like?

Accepted Answer

Compass is an intimate event with a maximum of 24 exhibitor booths in a dedicated exhibitor/refreshment space. The Doubletree by Hilton’s exhibit area is well lit and welcoming. The booths are 8x8 feet with white pipe and drape. Electricity and Wi-Fi are provided, along with a table and two chairs.

Can exhibitors bring more than two representatives?

Yes. Additional representative tickets beyond the two included with your booth purchase may be purchased for $80 each. Our Eventbrite sign-up includes the opportunity to purchase additional tickets.

Is lunch included in the booth cost?

Accepted Answer

Yes. A complimentary buffet lunch is provided for two exhibitor representatives. Compass also provides a continental breakfast and morning and afternoon snacks during breaks.

The form says sponsorships include one attendee. Can I add additional representatives?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Sponsorship opportunities include one attendee; a complimentary buffet lunch, continental breakfast, and morning and afternoon snacks are provided. Additional attendees may be registered for $100 each.

Can exhibitors ship booth materials to the venue ahead of time?

Yes. Please ship to arrive no earlier than three (3) days before the event. Items must be labeled as follows:

Question 9

What time can we set up our booths? --

Accepted Answer

Exhibitors may set up on Thursday, the night before the symposium, beginning at 6 pm at the latest.  The space is often ready by late afternoon. All booths must be set up by 7:30 AM on Friday.

Question 10

What is Compass Eve? Why should I attend?

Accepted Answer

Compass Eve is a reception from 7 – 8:30 pm on Thursday before at the DoubleTree by Hilton. It’s attended by speakers, Compass participants, and fellow exhibitors. Compass Eve is free (thanks to sponsors) and is a great way to connect. You can sign up to attend Compass Eve when you register.

What payment methods are accepted for a booth or sponsorship?

Payment via Eventbrite is strongly preferred. If you must pay via check, contact Richard Borrelli, Compass Chair, at richard.borrelli@wbrcinc.com for special arrangements and instructions.

Is Compass open to MEHES affiliate (corporate) members?

Accepted Answer

Yes! MEHES affiliate members attending MEHES’ annual meeting may register as Supporting Affiliates and participate in Compass as a paid attendee for $100. Whenever possible, a booth or sponsorship purchase is encouraged and much appreciated, as it is what funds the event.

Who runs Compass Healthcare Facilities Symposium?

Compass was created in 2011 by WBRC, a Maine-based architecture and engineering firm specializing in healthcare design. Compass also hosts the September meeting of Maine Healthcare Engineers’ Society. The event is funded by exhibitors and sponsors and has always been free to industry professionals.
