The Notts People's Charter: Creative Convening Session
A session of cuppas and crafts. Join and create decorations and craftivist artifacts for the Notts People’s Charter!
You’re invited to join Resolvers and Our House-ers for an afternoon of craft, chat, and cuppas.
The plan is simple: Bring your own project or start a new one, and consider what you want to make before, during, and after the Nottingham People’s Charter with your community’s hands and hearts. The power of making and creativity has no limits, and by convening with it as the focal point - we know great things will come of it.
You could make decorations for the Mobilising Day on April 11th, or collages for your community. You could start an embroidery of the current political moment, and plan to sew all the moments to come onto fabric to be used as a banner, or start crocheting a tapestry for your community’s charter to live in. You could make pillows with slogans, t-shirts for your fellow chartists, or designs to be replicated onto buttons in the future! The craft is your oyster.
If you don’t want to craft and just want to chat - that’s fine too! We’ll share what’s to come on the Mobilising Day - what’s ahead, what’s happening now, and how we can bring the community together to find consensus on new ways of doing democracy in Notts. Bring questions, leave inspired ⭐
We’ll provide:
- Needles and thread for embroidery
- Collage materials
- Crochet materials
If there’s anything else you’d like to bring - please feel free to. Or reach out to kendall@ourhouseuk.org with any questions or requests.
